About Archpriest Josiah Trenham, Ph.D.
A native Southern Californian, Father Josiah attended Westminster Seminary California, receiving his M.Div. in 1992 while studying under some of the most influential teachers in the Reformed tradition. In 1993, he was ordained to the Holy Priesthood of the Orthodox Church and in 2004 he was awarded a Ph.D. in Theology from the University of Durham, England.
Father Josiah has served as pastor of St. Andrew Orthodox Church in Riverside, California, since 1998. He is an Adjunct Professor of Theology at St. Katherine College in San Marcos, California (2010 – present), and was an Adjunct Professor at California Baptist University (2003-2010).
Father Josiah has published numerous articles and two books and is also the founder of Patristic Nectar Publications, a non-profit ministry. His weekly homilies are available on his podcast, The Arena, produced by Ancient Faith Radio.
He has been married to his wife Presbytera Catherine for 30 years and they have ten children. They have homeschooled all of their children, and run a homeschool co-op at the parish.
Since 2015 Father Josiah has served as a plenary speaker at the annual World Congress of Families - the largest annual international gathering of pro-family activists, scholars, politicians and lobbyists, at which he has addressed the importance of homeschooling. He has particular research interests in articulating the patristic vision for marriage, family life, and education.
